We will also be encouraged and inspired by a panel including Congressman Eric Sorensen, State Senator Dave Koehler & State Representative Sharon Chung.
Obama Legacy Dinner 2023
The Obama Legacy Dinner celebrates the accomplishments of the McLean County Democrats and channels the hope and dedication of President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama. In addition to special guest Anderson Clayton, Illinois state and national Democrats will join McLean County Chair Patrick Cortesi on stage for a moderated conversation about current issues, the 2024 election, and the legacy of Barack and Michelle Obama.
Scholarship Presentations
The Obama Legacy Scholarship was created in 2019 to honor Barack and Michelle Obama’s dedication to U.S. service members and community colleges. This scholarship is awarded to a Heartland Community College student who has or is serving in a military branch. The Baldini Scholarship is named after long-time McLean County Democratic Chair John Baldini. It is awarded to an Illinois State University student committed to civic and community engagement.
